Welcome to EKSIG website!

In response to requests from its international membership, the Design Research Society (DRS) established Special Interest Groups (SIGs) in 2007 to provide members with forums for pursuing shared interests and to support active collaboration among researchers and practitioners worldwide. The Special Interest Group on Experiential Knowledge (EKSIG) was the DRS’s first SIG.

EKSIG focuses on the understanding and role of knowledge in design research and professional practice. It aims to clarify the principles and practices involved in using design practice as a means of conducting research, particularly in relation to research standards, requirements, and methodologies.
